Fats on Friday – Ring Dem Bells

Thanks to Orchard Enterprises

Ring Dem Bells was a tune written by Duke Ellington. Fats Waller plays the tune at a much slower tempo than most versions and with an arrangement all his own. On Sunday, assuming all is back to normal, I’ll be posting Lionel Hampton’s version of Ring Dem Bells, which is closer in tempo and arrangement to the original by Duke Ellington.

This weekend my commentary will have to be cut short. My electricity will be off for a period this week, but should be back on by Friday.  Hopefully.
