Art Tatum — Isn’t It Romantic?

Isn’t it Romantic is from Vol 7 of the Pablo Art Tatum Solo Masterpieces.  He does a bit of 5/4 time here shades of what Dave Brubeck did later on, but then he quickly returned to the stride piano he returned to in almost every song.  As always, a great performance.   Tatum did quite a few of these great Rodgers and Hart songs that have come to be a big part of what is called “The Great American Songbook,” which Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, and Frank Sinatra made the core of their performances as well.
