Fats on Friday: on the radio with James P. Johnson

Fats Waller is joined here on his radio program by his friend, mentor, and piano teacher James P. Johnson, the “Father of the Stride Piano.”  There is no air date listed but I’m guessing some time in the late 1930’s.  It’s funny:  these two wonderful piano players nearly had what piano players call a train wreck but  they both survived.  The tune was I’ve Found A New Baby.”  My thanks to You Tube poster BlueBlackJazz.
