Back to Benny Lewis the Irish Polyglot

After getting that business off my chest about  the prison POW, gulag, or concentration camp style public school lunches (opps, I’ve violated Godwin’s law), I wanted to get back to Benny Lewis, the Irish Polyglot.  I had a few more observations to make about Benny Lewis’s Fluent in Three Months ideas.

I highly recommend his web site and his Tedx Talks.  The key points he makes are that language learning is a social experience and that the language learning has to be all in or fully committed.  He says that in order to learn the language, you live the language.

He has forums on his site  where people share their experiences.  He also has practice areas for people to try out their language, if they can find a partner.

He also understands that a teacher is both an entertainer as well as a source of knowledge.  I think he has a great understanding of how to inspire people to learn additional languages.
